As part of ongoing activities within the CROSS-REIS project, members of the University of Montenegro team Ana Lalević Filipović, Milijana Novović Burić, and Milan Raičević participated in the XIII International Symposium: Innovations in Insurance – From Traditional to Modern Market, held in Zlatibor, Serbia, from June 5–8, 2025.
During the symposium, Prof. Ana Lalević Filipović presented the team’s co-authored research paper entitled “Innovations in Accounting Reporting: Evaluation of the Readiness of Insurance Companies in Montenegro” . The paper investigates how prepared the Montenegrin insurance market is to integrate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into accounting practices. Findings suggest that while initial capacities exist, a strategic and systemic effort is essential to enable real transformation.
The paper is included in the conference proceedings published under the title “Innovations in Insurance – From Traditional to Modern Market” . This monograph provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary perspective on the insurance industry’s evolving role in a world shaped by digital transformation, climate risks, and shifting economic realities. Contributions address topics such as green finance, catastrophe insurance, AI and machine learning in risk modeling, ESG readiness, and the development of sustainable insurance frameworks across the region.
Participation in this symposium reinforces CROSS-REIS’s commitment to exploring how regenerative economy principles intersect with emerging market practices, particularly in finance, governance, and risk management.
