About Project

Aims and objectives

The overarching project objective is to enhance scientific excellence and foster value creation by promoting extensive and geographically diverse collaboration among higher education and research institutions across five widening and three research intensive European countries. Through this alliance, we aim to facilitate the transition towards a regenerative economy paradigm.

Specific objectives

Achieve a more balanced circulation of talents between widening country HE institutions and European leading research-intensive institutions to cultivate a research community that is more diverse and inclusive, encompassing a broader spectrum of perspectives and ideas.

Reinforce the role of higher education institutions within innovation ecosystems by forging stronger ties with local communities, to cultivate opportunities for regenerative growth.

Mainstream practices and tools for open sharing of knowledge and data to facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange among widening project partners, while enhancing cooperation between widening and leading research-intensive institutions across Europe.

Advance towards reforming the assessment system for research, encompassing career evaluation, to foster a more equitable and inclusive research environment, enabling talent recognition and reward independent of institutional affiliation.

Strengthen the connections between science and business, fostering opportunities for research-driven innovation and entrepreneurship and enhancing competitiveness of widening country HE institutions.

Promote gender equality and diversity by considering the perspectives and needs of different stakeholders, particularly those who may be more vulnerable or marginalised.

Accelerate society's transition to a green and digital future, aligning with the ERA Policy Agenda action 11 and ensuring that both widening partners and leading European research-intensive institutions benefit from the project's outcomes.

Foster cooperation with entities established in third countries to achieve a positive impact on widening countries' HE institutions by facilitating access to new resources, knowledge, and expertise.
