From September 11-13, 2024, the CROSS-REIS project partner Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro (UOM) hosted a significant networking event. This event aimed to enhance collaborative research, data sharing, and the development of regenerative economic models among widening partners.
The event opened with a series of presentations on the infrastructure and cooperation potentials of the UOM, including an overview of ongoing international projects and scientific research initiatives. Notable speakers, such as Tamara Backović, Vice Dean for International Cooperation, and Jovan Đurašković, Vice Dean for Scientific Research, highlighted the university's commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration.
Participants also explored opportunities for cooperation with key Montenegrin institutions, including the Environmental Protection Agency, ECO FUND, and the Chamber of Commerce. Presentations by Milan Gazdić, Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, and Draško Boljević, Director of ECO FUND, underscored the integration of environmental sustainability into economic strategies.
On September 12, attendees were introduced to the MICEB 2024 CROSS-REIS EDITION, with sessions focused on urban biodiversity and the intersection of innovation with regenerative economic practices. A round table discussion led by POLIEDRA – POLIMI provided a forum for partners to exchange ideas on enhancing urban biodiversity through interdisciplinary approaches.
The event concluded on September 13 with a visit to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis in Nikšić, where participants gained insights into Tehnopolis' infrastructure and its role in supporting innovative enterprises. The final discussions emphasised the importance of continued networking and collaboration among partners to drive sustainable development.
