The 12th Responsible Management Education Research Conference (RMERC 2025), co-organized by the PRME Anti-Poverty Working Group and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade, gathered a global community of management researchers, educators, policymakers, and business leaders to explore new perspectives on responsible management and sustainability.
Under the theme “Rethinking Growth and Exploring New Possibilities for a Regenerative World,” the conference highlighted emerging approaches that move beyond sustainability toward regenerative systems — models that strengthen ecosystems and communities through continuous renewal and collaboration. The event reinforced the growing importance of connecting research, education, and practice in addressing complex societal and environmental challenges.
On the second day, prof. Jelena J. Stanković, coordinator of the CROSS-REIS project and Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš, participated as a panelist in the multi-stakeholder discussion “Partnerships for a Regenerative Society.” The session brought together distinguished speakers from academia, business, and international institutions, including Tijana Janković (UN Global Compact), Sandra Živković (Banca Intesa), Đorđe Lazić (Egzakta Group), Dušan Stojaković (Hemofarm), Stefan Jovanović (CIRSD), and Adrian Solomon (EIT Manufacturing Serbia). The panel was moderated by Marko Ćirović and Milica Jovanović from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
Prof. Stanković emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration and knowledge transfer as key drivers of innovation and resilience in economic and urban systems — principles that lie at the heart of the CROSS-REIS project. She reflected on how the project’s work on regenerative transitions aligns with the broader academic and policy discourse on responsible management, particularly in promoting data-informed decision-making, multi-actor partnerships, and systemic change.
Through its participation in RMERC 2025, CROSS-REIS reaffirmed its commitment to advancing research excellence, collaborative innovation, and regenerative thinking — connecting local initiatives with global sustainability goals.
