The Bled Strategic Forum returns to Bled on 31 August and 1 September 2026 for its twenty-first edition, held under the title “The Power to Shape the Future”. Organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia together with the Centre for European Perspective, the Forum is one of the leading international conferences in Central and South-Eastern Europe, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, researchers and civil society.
The concept note for this year’s edition describes a multiplex world in which partnerships are more flexible, issue-specific and regionally grounded, and in which economic realignment, regional conflicts, cyber and hybrid threats and rapid technological development are making global affairs more uncertain than ever.
We are pleased to share that our colleague prof. Žiga Turk from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering (UL FGG), a CROSS-REIS partner institution, will take part as a speaker in the panel “Who Owns the Green Future? Power, Dependency, and the New Resource Order”. The discussion will address how the green transition is reshaping global competition, resource dependencies, supply chains and the balance of power.
The panel takes place on 1 September 2026, from 14:00 to 15:00, in the Zrak Hall of the Rikli Balance Hotel. It is moderated by Dan Sanaren of The Carter Center, and prof. Turk speaks alongside Pauline Anaman (AB & David Africa, Ghana), Slavko Ažman (Porsche Slovenija), Charles Hendry CBE (former UK Minister of Energy), Romain Ravet (The Carter Center) and Sabrina Schulz (European Initiative for Energy Security, Germany).
The CROSS-REIS team from the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš (FEUN), the project’s coordinating institution, will also take part in the Forum, led by the project coordinator prof. Jelena Stanković.
Participation at the Bled Strategic Forum continues the project’s engagement with high-level international dialogue, ensuring that research on regenerative economies and innovation ecosystems feeds into the policy discussions shaping Europe’s green transition.
